Yes. In the case of moving provinces, you will need to provide us with two things:
- You will need to notify us of your new address. The quickest way to do this is by sending us an email to Leaseservices@scileasecorp.com or you can call us at 1-888-559-5022.
- You will need to update your vehicle registration. SCI Lease Corp will then provide you with a Power of Attorney, which you will need to register the vehicle in your new province.
You will need the original vehicle registration along with the Power of Attorney form in order to get this done at the licensing office in the new province.
Updates to my Personal Information
It’s a very simple process – simply click here to update your profile. Having your updated contact information in our system is extremely important and helps us get information to you in a timely manner. We thank you for providing us your new information.
New banking information can be emailed or mailed to SCI Lease Corp. For efficiency, we strongly encourage emailing us at leaseservices@scileasecorp.com. Please note that we only accept a Bank Form or a Void Cheque with your name and address printed on the Void Cheque as supporting documents for banking info changes.
You will need to provide SCI Lease Corp with a government piece of ID in order to update your legal name. Â Please send a scanned copy of your ID to leaseservices@scileasecorp.com and include your SCI account number, name, phone number and date of birth, along with the documents that support the legal name change. Once we receive your information, one of our team members will reach out to you within 24 hours to validate the new information and make the necessary changes in our system.
Changes to your Existing Lease
Removing your name from your vehicle lease is considered an amendment to the original Lease Contract and there are three formalities involved in the process.
- To initiate this request, please send an email to leaseservices@scileasecorp.com
- This will prompt us to review the applicant(s) remaining on the lease regarding their credit and if they can continue the lease on their own
- If they are approved, we will provide an Amendment Letter to be signed by all parties
- Once the amendment is signed and any supporting documents that we may ask for are provided, we will make the changes to remove you from the lease.
Please note that If your amendment request is not approved, we will communicate that to you. You may find someone else to replace you on the contract. This new applicant(s) will have to go through the credit approval process.
If you have someone who is willing to take over the lease, please speak to your originating dealer to help facilitate the process. The transferee (person(s) taking over the lease) will be subject to credit approval.
Please note that for your account to be eligible for a lease transfer:
- The account must be in good standing
- More than 6 months must have elapsed since the start of the lease
- More than 6 months must be remaining on the lease
All lease transfers are subject to an administration fee.
You may not make any modifications to your leased vehicle without our written consent. To request approval to modify your leased vehicle in any way, you will need to send us an email to leaseservices@scileasecorp.com outlining the details of the modifications you would like to make. We will review your request and if approved you will get an acknowledgement letter that you will need to sign off on. Once we have received the signed letter, we will reach out to you letting you know that you may proceed with the requested changes.
If you need/chose to change your lease payment frequency, please email us at leaseservices@scileasecorp.com with your request. SCI Lease Corp will review your account and provide you with the proposed new schedule and any applicable fees, along with an acknowledgement letter. Once you’ve signed off and returned the letter acknowledging the change to your payment frequency, we will implement the new schedule in our system.  Please be aware that payment frequency changes require approval and may be subject to an administration fee.  Also note that the terms of the contract remain unchanged.
If you can no longer afford your lease payments, the following options may be available to you:
- Find someone to take over your remaining lease payments and complete a Lease Transfer (this will be subject to credit approval for the new Lessee)
- Speak to your Dealer to determine if they would be willing to purchase your vehicle for the current buyout
Warranty Products (Third Party Products)
Warranty products can be cancelled dependent on the warranty provider’s cancellation policy. You will need to contact the Warranty company and provide them with a written request, and additionally, your dealer may also be able to assist you with the cancellation. Any prorated funds being refunded will be made payable to the leasing company.
If the cost of the product was included in your financed amount, SCI Lease Corp will refund you half the prorated amount once the funds are received from the warranty company and the balance will be refunded to you at lease maturity, assuming that there are no outstanding charges owed to SCI Lease Corp.
In the case where you paid for the warranty product independently of the lease, you can contact them directly to determine if cancellation is an option.
Any optional warranties that you may have purchased at the beginning of your lease that may help address any excess wear and tear items will need to be reviewed and resolved with your dealership prior to returning your lease.
Warranty Products (SCI CarCare)
SCI CarCare can only be cancelled in the first 60 days of the delivery of the vehicle. If you are making the request within that timeframe, the refund process would be as follows: 50% at time of cancellation (within the first 60 days) and the remaining 50% at lease maturity, assuming that there are no outstanding charges owed to SCI Lease Corp.
SCI CarCare is an end of term product providing your vehicle coverage for Excess Wear and Tear (EWT), which are vehicle damages that are over and above what is considered normal wear and tear.
Once your pre-return vehicle inspection has been completed SCI Lease Corp will provide you with a pre-assessment statement.  Any excess wear and tear, excess kms, or Further Diagnosis items, identified on your Inspection Report will be outlined on your Pre-Assessment Statement (PAS). If you have purchased SCI CarCare, any claims will also be outlined in your PAS.
Insurance
You can submit your new/updated insurance policy through this online portal. As per the terms of the contract, you must carry full coverage at all times, and have SCI Lease Management Corp listed as lessor.
First thing to do is to contact your insurance company to file a claim. The insurance company will then notify SCI Lease Corp and we would proceed to settle the claim on your behalf. Â We also highly recommend that you contact us with your claim number, date of accident and the contact information for your insurance company, which you can do via email to insurance@scileasecorp.com. Â Please note that you will continue to be responsible for payments until the settlement funds are received.
First thing you need to do is report to the local police that your vehicle has been stolen. Secondly, you must contact your insurance company and file a claim. The insurance company will then notify SCI Lease Corp and we would proceed to settle the claim on your behalf. We also encourage you to contact us via email at Insurance@scileasecorp.com and provide us with your claim number, date the vehicle was stolen, a copy of the police report filed, and the contact information for your insurance company. Please note that a stolen vehicle settlement does take some time to resolve. In the case that your vehicle is recovered and if there is no damage to the vehicle, the insurance company will close the claim and you can recover the vehicle. Please note that you will be responsible for payments until the settlement funds are received by SCI Lease Corp.
Vehicle Storage
Please note that SCI Lease Corp does not allow storage insurance. Therefore, under the terms of your contract, you must continue to have full insurance during the term of the lease, even while your vehicle is in storage.
Safety Recalls
As outlined in Section 16 of your Lease agreement you are required to complete any open Safety Recalls on your vehicle. Not having these recalls completed may cause delays in closing off your account.
Vehicle Purchase Options
If you wish to buy out your vehicle at any time during the lease term, simply contact your original dealer and request a buyout amount. They will assist you with the process, which will include the transfer of ownership from SCI Lease Corp to your name. Additionally, they can assist you with conducting a safety inspection, if needed (dependent on province).
If you wish to purchase your vehicle at the end of the lease term, please contact your original dealer. They will assist you with the entire process from, collecting the payment, transferring of ownership from SCI Lease Corp to your name, to completing a safety report if needed (dependent on province).
In the case of your Dealer purchasing your vehicle from you, they must provide SCI Lease Corp payment for that vehicle. Once we receive that payment, we will stop your payments. Any delay in the payment from the dealer could result in additional funds withdrawn from your account. However, if there is any payment owed to you at that time, SCI Lease Corp will refund via direct deposit or cheque.
Lease Maturity
For all questions relating to your lease maturity please review your lease agreement and our Lease Maturity Brochure which you can access by  clicking here.
Contact your dealership and call our Lease Maturity Team at 1-888-559-5022 to discuss your Lease Maturity Plans (Intent). We are here to help you with whatever decision you choose to make.
Having your pre-return inspection completed is not only a requirement, but it will also provide you with peace of mind and will avoid any unexpected charges once your vehicle has been returned.
Security Deposit
Security deposits are refunded as long as there are no outstanding payments, or lease end charges. If there is an amount owing, SCI Lease Corp will invoice you for those charges and apply the security deposit to the amount owing. Any funds remaining from your security deposit will be refunded via direct deposit.
